Following last year’s first co-presented mix by Skratch Bastid and Cosmo Baker, the two seasoned dancefloor vets and scholarly music diggers have once again teamed up to deliver 3 hours of audio bliss in the form of “Songs We Listened to A Lot in 2013.” This isn’t your typical “year-end” mix simply recapping the best songs of the year but rather a celebration of music, new and old, that received a more than healthy dose of spins on their respective decks and headphones. Fresh discoveries like Rhye, King Krule, and Rich Homie Quan sit alongside classics from Marvin Gaye, Toots and The Maytals, or Alicia Myers.
The process even took to Tumblr this year with a Songs2013 page where friends/family are sharing selections and stories and Twitter where people have been posting titles and links with the hashtag #songs2013.
